Favorite Scene
My favorite scene in Island of the Blue Dolphins was when Karana nursed the wild dog back to a healthy creature. The characters involved in this scene are Karana and the wild dog, named Rontu. The stage of plot in this scene is the rising action. The setting of this scene is at Karana’s house. Her house is made out of driftwood and grass. There is no floor in her house, but Karana does keep her food and clothing in the house. The house is shaded by one tree and is close to a stream.
I learned that Karana is caring and knows how to take roots from bushes and turn them into medicine. I also learned that Rontu was a kind dog rather than vicious dog. This is my favorite scene because the wild dog becomes friends with Karana and this makes her become more considerable to the dogs lives. Another reason this is my favorite scene is because it proves that enemies can become best friends.
